Serving suggestions

For each gallon, fill one muslin bag with about ⅓ cup of spices and add it to a pot with 1 gallon of red wine or port and ½ cup of sugar. Simmer gently on low for 1–2 hours (don't let it boil), then serve warm in mugs, or chill it for a spiced sangria. Add orange slices, a splash of brandy, or swap half the wine for cider. It's also great kept warm in a slow cooker for a party.
