About the Maker

Güeyu Mar completely revolutionizes the tinned fish game by introducing live-fire grilling to the world of classic Spanish conservas. Born out of Chef Abel Álvarez's acclaimed, beachfront restaurant in Asturias, Spain, they reject traditional steaming completely. Instead, fresh seafood is hand-grilled over aromatic wood and charcoal fires before being meticulously packed in premium, single-estate extra virgin olive oil. This labor-intensive process infuses catches like buttery sardine tails, calamari, and tuna loins with an intoxicating, delicate kiss of real wood smoke.
