Dried oyster mushrooms have a mild, savory flavor with a hint of seafood-like richness. Once rehydrated, they develop a tender, silky texture that works beautifully in soups, stir-fries, risottos, and sauces.
Rinse mushrooms, then place them in a bowl. If short on time, cover with hot water/broth for 3-45 minutes. For deeper flavor, cover with cool water and soak in the fridge overnight. Strain and save soaking water for a savory addition to brothers or sauces. Squeeze excess water out of mushrooms. Cook just like fresh mushrooms!
